Industry
There is not a great deal of industry lining the canals on which we have travelled to date, but even when it exists, there's something visually fantastic if not appealing.
I suppose the canals were originally constructed to assist industry ...
ReplyDeleteNot just to assist... there are still lots of major routes, and a big push to show that there is far less carbon created by water transport!
ReplyDeleteIt's quite exciting sharing a lock with a barge 100metres long and carrying a couple of thousand tonnes of coal.
This is an excellent picture. So much to look at.
