Apartments in Lille
I really like this photo! The apartments almost straddle the Lille Europe railway line and are part of a huge complex including shops and offices. I can't make up my mind whether the coloured decoration was applied as part of the original design, or whether the building was so stark it was added as an afterthought although I suspect the former.
One or two panels are peeling now, it may not be quite so pretty in a year or two.
Lille.

I rather suspect that you are an architect...I don't know why.
ReplyDeleteThere appears to be a trend in buildings these days, to have something very eye catching on a building...to take the eye away from something ugly and detracting nearby...I have worked out lately...eg some buildings near the Roma St railway in Brisbane, where the ugly overhead wires go very close to the building...there is an interesting scroll of leaves climbing around the buildings walls. Sorry. Just had to note my observation...sorry to bore you!
